Concerns over Juvenile Justice System Raised in Parliament

MP Mohamed Ibrahim (Kuddo) has submitted a motion to the Parliament to question and discuss with relevant authorities the concerns regarding the non-implementation of the Juvenile Justice Act. The motion highlights issues such as the inadequate establishment of juvenile detention centers and rehabilitation facilities, the limited scope of diversion programs, delays in training specialized personnel, and a shortage of social workers. Despite the establishment of the Department of Juvenile Justice and Juvenile Courts, these institutions lack sufficient budget and resources. The MP has requested that the Home Ministry, Health Ministry, and other relevant bodies be summoned to the Parliament's Human Rights and Gender Committee to address these matters.
