Ordinary staff should be fired after government waste stops: Shamheed

Member for Hulhumale' South Constituency, Dr. Ahmed Shamheed, stated that ordinary staff should only be laid off after the government stops its unnecessary expenditures and dismisses political appointees. Shamheed mentioned that many of those currently being dismissed are MDP members, but more citizens and PNC members will also be dismissed in the future. He also noted that the government has not taken any measures to reduce expenditure or halt any wasteful projects. Furthermore, he pointed out that millions are spent monthly on various government events that offer no benefit to the public.
