Customs services to be digitized, borders secured: Minister

Home Minister Ali Ihusaan stated that in the future, Maldives Customs Service's services will be further digitized, and borders will be secured. The Minister emphasized that Customs officers diligently fulfill their responsibilities of managing the nation's gateways, fostering a favorable business environment, and safeguarding a significant portion of state revenue. He highlighted significant achievements by Customs in preventing the entry of narcotics and prohibited items into the Maldives. The Minister also noted notable progress in the past two and a half years in seizing narcotics and preventing the import of harmful items like vapes.
