Malé Road Development Project to Begin Early 2027

President Dr. Mohamed Muizzu has stated that the practical work for the first major project to modernize Malé's roads will commence in early next year. The project includes the installation of a storm drainage system, a dewatering system for construction, and a fire hydrant system. The President also noted that a permanent solution to Malé's congestion issues requires addressing the root cause. The government aims to decentralize services, opportunities, and housing to achieve regional development, which he believes will resolve Malé's congestion.
