Customs Corruption Increased Under Current Government: MP Ghafoor

Hanimadhoo constituency MP Abdul Ghafoor Musa (Gappo) stated that corruption has significantly increased at Maldives Customs Service since the current government took office. He alleged that numerous containers have been illegally smuggled out. MP Ghafoor also pointed out that expected revenue of approximately two billion Rufiyaa from cigarettes has not been received, despite cigarettes being regularly imported. He further noted that a black market for vapes has emerged following the ban, benefiting others outside the state system.
