MACL Signs MOUs to Enhance Airport Crisis Management

Maldives Airports Company Limited (MACL) has signed Memorandums of Understanding (MOUs) with three institutions to strengthen its capacity in managing crises and emergencies at Velana International Airport. The MOUs were signed with the National Disaster Management Authority (NDMA), Maldives Meteorological Service (MMS), and Maldives Red Crescent (MRC). These agreements include defining the roles of each institution and conducting training and simulations for coordinated action during emergencies. MACL emphasized the importance of inter-agency collaboration to ensure the security of the main airport and maintain it as a prepared and secure facility.
