Sobey to Government: Stop Firing Campaign Staff

Abdullah Sodiq (Sobey), who won the by-election for the Hoarafushi North constituency on the MDP ticket, has called on the government to immediately stop dismissing individuals from government companies who were part of his campaign team. Sobey stated on Facebook that he requests the government to cease taking action against those involved in his campaign and those believed to have voted for him, including dismissals and threats of dismissal. Mahfooz Husny, who worked at STELCO and was part of Sobey's campaign, was dismissed yesterday. Additionally, Ahmed Zuhair, who held the position of Director at the Maldives Transportation Safety Board, was dismissed following a photo with Sobey.
