Hajj pilgrims use ice cream and fans against heat

To escape the intense heat in Mecca, Hajj pilgrims are being provided with ice cream and cold drinks, along with large fans and misting systems. Some pilgrims have had to alter their worship plans, opting to pray in air-conditioned hotel rooms during the day due to the extreme temperatures. The forecast predicts temperatures between 42 and 47 degrees Celsius this week, increasing the risk of heatstroke and fainting. Saudi authorities have deployed over 50,000 health workers and 3,000 ambulances to assist pilgrims.
